The Rolling Coder: Who is he?
Paul Foley, that’s who! I’m a software engineer and throughout my career I’ve written many different types of software for many different applications. I simply love to code. I appreciate the unforgiving strictness of a compiler and the complete flexibility to implement whatever idea you can think of. I may have a heightened appreciation for technology. Due to a spinal cord injury at birth I have limited use of my arms and legs and technology has been a great equalizer for me throughout my life (in addition to the support of my amazing family and friends). I’m a coder. I’m a quadriplegic. I’m a coderplegic.
Beyond coding, my interests are abundant but talking about myself is not one of them. So, here are a few quick hits to get a glimpse of who The Rolling Coder really is. I have a complex set of rules about what foods can touch each other on a plate, all sauces are highly scrutinized. I start way too many sentences with “I listened to a podcast about that”. My enjoyment of sports is directly proportional to the number of people I’m with.
I have no idea what I will put on this website. I simply wanted my own corner of the internet to share things that I enjoy and hopefully others will too. So, welcome and stay tuned to see what comes next. I can’t wait to find out with you!
